Care from Home for Everyday Health Concerns

Dr. Patel provides secure video visits for adults with common, non-emergency illnesses. You can discuss symptoms, medications, allergies, medical history, and treatment options from home.

After reviewing your concern, Dr. Patel will recommend the appropriate next step. This may include self-care guidance, treatment recommendations, prescriptions when clinically appropriate, testing orders, referrals, medication guidance, or a recommendation for in-person

care.

The final level may reflect your symptoms, medical history, medications, treatment needs, and whether testing, prescriptions, referrals, or additional follow up are appropriate.

If you are uninsured or do not plan to use insurance, you may request a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges before your visit.

Concerns Often Suitable for Telehealth

  • Colds, coughs, mild flu-like symptoms, and other minor respiratory illnesses

  • Seasonal allergies, nasal congestion, and uncomplicated sinus symptoms

  • Sore throat, including guidance on whether strep testing is needed

  • Bronchitis-like symptoms

  • Mild asthma or COPD symptom review

  • Medication questions and select refill requests

  • Minor eye irritation or possible pink eye when suitable for video evaluation

  • Mild nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, indigestion, or stomach illness

  • Uncomplicated urinary symptoms

  • Typical headaches or migraine follow-up without warning signs

What Happens During a Visit

Dr. Patel will review your current symptoms, relevant health history, medications, allergies, and home vital signs, if available. You may be asked to share photos or use video to help assess certain concerns.

At the end of your visit, you will receive practical next-step guidance, including recommended home care, treatment options, testing or follow-up needs, and warning signs that require in-person evaluation.

When to Seek In-Person Care

Telehealth is not appropriate for emergencies or conditions that require a hands-on examination.

Call 911 or go to the emergency room for:

  • Chest pain, severe shortness of breath, or trouble breathing

  • Severe allergic reaction

  • Stroke-like symptoms, fainting, confusion, seizure, or sudden severe headache

  • Severe dehydration, uncontrolled bleeding, or severe abdominal pain

  • Thoughts of self-harm or harm to others

An in-person evaluation may also be needed for persistent high fever, worsening symptoms, severe ear pain, severe eye pain or vision changes, possible serious infection, repeated vomiting, or urinary symptoms accompanied by fever, flank pain, pregnancy, or significant medical complexity.
